No Club pays for The Home Swap Guy's recommendations. Where it earns, it says so. This page is how that promise stays checkable rather than taken on trust.
How independence actually works here
The Home Swap Guy's authority comes from being genuinely inside this industry, not outside it — 15 years and 100+ trips and hostings, across multiple Clubs, personally. That involvement is the credential. It is also, honestly, a set of relationships, and the promise that matters is not distance from them. It is that recommendations are decided on merit, and every material involvement is disclosed here.
What's disclosed today
- Active member of multiple major Home Swap Clubs, including Kindred, HomeExchange and ThirdHome.
- Member referral links to HomeExchange, Kindred and ThirdHome, on the front page. Details below.
- No current equity or advisory role with any Home Swap Club, and no compensation from one beyond those referral rewards.
Referral links
The front page links to the three Clubs Steve is a member of, through his own member referral links. When someone joins through one, the Club rewards both of them.
The three are linked alike and in alphabetical order, so the order ranks nothing. Which Club suits you is your decision, ideally made after reading the guides rather than because of a link. Because the same kind of referral interest exists in all three, it creates no preference between them: coverage still compares them on the facts, and does not steer you to any one.
What each Club currently offers, as published by the Club in October 2026. Offers change, and the Club's own page is the authority:
- HomeExchange — the new member receives 250 GuestPoints (100 for listing a home, 150 for becoming a member); the referrer receives 250 GuestPoints.
- Kindred — the new member is gifted 5 credits; the referrer earns 2 credits once the new member is verified.
- ThirdHome — a referral rewards both sides; ThirdHome's referral page does not state the amounts.
What would change this page
If that ever changes — an equity position, an advisory role, a referral arrangement — it is added here, by name, before or at the same time it becomes public anywhere else. Where an interest exists in one Club and not its rivals, coverage of that Club states verified facts only; it does not rank, tier or recommend. An identical interest in several Clubs, like the referral links above, creates no preference between them and is disclosed rather than recused.
